CHAPTER 7: THE HEIR WHO WAS ERASED FROM HISTORY

CHAPTER 7: THE HEIR WHO WAS ERASED FROM HISTORY

The lights inside the hidden vault continued flickering.

For a moment, nobody moved.

Nobody spoke.

The words Daniel Cross had just revealed stayed in the air like a threat.

“The real heir to the Hale empire isn’t Ethan.”

Victor stared at the family attorney.

His face showed disbelief.

But underneath that disbelief was something much stronger.

Anger.

“Explain yourself.”

Daniel looked at him.

“I wish I could tell you this was simple.”

Victor stepped closer.

“It better be.”

“Because you have spent seven years hiding things from me.”

Daniel lowered his eyes.

“I know.”

“And I regret every single day.”

Victor pointed toward the documents around them.

“You were Amelia’s attorney.”

“You handled the trust.”

“You controlled the legal records.”

“And now you’re telling me there was another heir?”

Daniel nodded.

“Yes.”

Lily looked between them.

“Who is it?”

Nobody answered.

Because everyone already knew the only person who made sense.

Adrian Hale.

Victor slowly turned toward him.

“Is he talking about you?”

Adrian did not respond immediately.

That silence was enough.

Victor’s expression changed.

“You knew.”

Adrian looked away.

“I knew my existence was part of the reason Amelia was in danger.”

Victor felt betrayed again.

“How many secrets did my wife carry?”

Adrian looked at him.

“More than either of us realized.”

Ethan quietly held Lily’s hand.

He looked scared.

Victor noticed.

Immediately, his anger softened.

He walked toward his son.

“Ethan.”

The boy looked up.

“Are we safe?”

The question broke Victor’s heart.

He knelt down.

“Yes.”

“But I need you to listen to me.”

Ethan nodded.

“No matter what happens…”

“I will always protect you.”

Ethan hugged his father.

Victor held him tightly.

But deep inside, Victor knew something.

This was no longer just about inheritance.

Someone had tried to destroy his family.

Someone had taken Amelia away.

And now they were coming after Ethan.

Victor stood again.

He looked at Daniel.

“Tell me everything.”

Daniel sighed.

Then he walked toward the center table inside the vault.

He opened an old folder.

Inside were birth records.

Family documents.

And a sealed letter.

“The Hale family was not as perfect as everyone believed.”

Victor looked at the papers.

“My father?”

Daniel nodded.

“Your grandfather.”

Victor picked up one of the documents.

The name on it shocked him.

Adrian Michael Hale.

Adrian looked away.

Daniel continued.

“Your grandfather had a son before your father.”

“Adrian’s father.”

Victor looked at Adrian.

“So your family hid you?”

Adrian nodded.

“They erased my entire existence.”

“Why?”

Daniel looked at the documents.

“Because the Hale empire was built on a promise.”

“What promise?”

Daniel answered quietly.

“The firstborn Hale child would inherit everything.”

Victor understood.

“If Adrian existed…”

“Then my father’s position was never guaranteed.”

Daniel nodded.

“Exactly.”

The room became silent.

Victor looked at Adrian.

“All these years…”

“You were the rightful heir?”

Adrian shook his head.

“No.”

Victor frowned.

“What?”

“I never wanted the company.”

Adrian looked toward Ethan.

“I wanted the truth.”

That answer surprised Victor.

For the first time, he saw something different in Adrian.

Not greed.

Not ambition.

Pain.

A man who had spent his entire life erased.

Suddenly, a sound came from inside the vault.

A small clicking noise.

Everyone turned.

One of the old monitors on the wall suddenly turned on.

The screen showed a video.

Victor immediately recognized the person appearing on it.

Amelia.

His breath stopped.

The recording began.

“Victor…”

Her voice filled the room.

“If you are watching this, then you finally discovered what I was trying to protect.”

Victor stepped closer.

The image was old.

But Amelia looked serious.

Not sick.

Not weak.

Determined.

“I need you to know something.”

“The person who betrayed us is not after money.”

Victor watched carefully.

“They are afraid of one thing.”

“The truth.”

The screen flickered.

Amelia continued.

“Victor, if Adrian returns, do not see him as your enemy.”

“See him as the missing piece.”

Adrian looked down.

Victor listened.

“Because the person who destroyed this family wanted both of you separated.”

The recording paused.

Then Amelia said the words that changed everything.

“They needed the two strongest members of the Hale family to fight each other.”

Victor’s eyes narrowed.

Someone had created a war between them.

A war that never needed to happen.

The recording continued.

“But there is one person who knows the complete truth.”

Victor leaned closer.

“Who?”

Amelia looked directly into the camera.

Her final message was clear.

“Find Evelyn Hale.”

The screen went black.

Nobody moved.

Victor stared at the empty monitor.

“Who is Evelyn Hale?”

Daniel looked terrified.

Adrian answered.

“She was my mother.”

Victor turned.

“What?”

Adrian’s voice became quiet.

“She disappeared after my birth.”

“Everyone believed she died.”

“But Amelia found evidence that she was alive.”

Lily looked shocked.

“Another hidden person?”

Daniel nodded.

“And another secret.”

Victor felt overwhelmed.

His family history was becoming a maze of lies.

But one thing was clear.

Amelia had left a path.

A trail leading to the truth.

Victor picked up the folder.

“We find Evelyn.”

Daniel looked worried.

“You don’t understand.”

Victor stared at him.

“What?”

“Finding Evelyn could destroy the entire Hale family.”

Victor looked at Ethan.

Then at the photograph of Amelia.

“No.”

“It could finally save it.”

Suddenly, Victor’s phone rang.

The caller ID appeared.

Everyone froze.

Because the call was from someone who should not have been able to contact them.

Someone who had disappeared.

Someone they thought was gone.

Victor answered.

“Hello?”

A woman’s voice came through.

Weak.

Shaking.

But familiar.

“Victor…”

His face changed.

Because he knew that voice.

It was impossible.

“Amelia?”

The room went silent.

The voice whispered:

“I’m sorry I couldn’t tell you the truth.”

Victor stopped breathing.

Then the woman said:

“But you need to know…”

“Ethan is in danger.”

The call ended.

Victor stared at the phone.

Because if Amelia was alive…

May you like

Then the biggest secret in Hale Mansion had just been revealed.

And everything they believed about her death was a lie.
