CHAPTER 14: THE FINAL HEIR’S CHOICE

CHAPTER 14: THE FINAL HEIR’S CHOICE
The message on Richard Hale’s desk remained visible.
THE FINAL HEIR WILL CHOOSE WHO FALLS.
Nobody spoke.
The words felt heavier than any threat they had faced before.
Because this time, Richard was not attacking them with money.

Not with secrets.
Not with manipulation.
He was attacking the one thing Victor had protected above everything else.
His family.
Victor stared at the document in his hand.
The inheritance agreement.
The final rule hidden for decades.
A rule that gave power to Ethan.
A child who had already lost seven years with his mother.
A child who had been dragged into a war created by adults.
Victor slowly folded the paper.
“No.”
Everyone looked at him.
Victor’s voice became firm.
“My son will not be used as a weapon.”
Amelia stepped closer.
“Victor…”
“No.”
He looked at everyone.
“Richard wanted us to fight over control.”
“He wanted us to become exactly what he believed we were.”
“Greedy.”
“Selfish.”
“Power hungry.”
Adrian looked at the document.
“But if we ignore the agreement…”
Victor shook his head.
“Then we find another way.”
Elizabeth crossed her arms.
“You think Richard didn’t prepare for that?”
Victor looked at her.
“What are you saying?”
Elizabeth walked toward the table.
“My father spent his entire life creating backup plans.”
“He never trusted anyone.”
“Not even his own children.”
Daniel quietly added:
“She’s right.”
Everyone turned.
Daniel looked exhausted.
“There are layers inside the Hale system.”
“Every time someone thinks they found the end…”
“They discover another secret.”
Victor looked at him.
“And you helped build that system.”
Daniel nodded.
“Yes.”
“But I also know how to break it.”
That caught Victor’s attention.
“What do you know?”
Daniel looked toward Ethan.
“The inheritance agreement is not the final decision.”
Victor frowned.
“Explain.”
Daniel opened the folder.
“The person who chooses the future leader is not Ethan.”
Everyone became confused.
“Then who?”
Daniel looked at Victor.
“The child’s guardian.”
Silence.
Victor understood.
“Me.”
Daniel nodded.
“But there is a condition.”
Victor already knew he would hate the answer.
“What condition?”
Daniel looked at the agreement.
“The guardian must prove they are choosing for the family.”
“Not themselves.”
Victor stared at the document.
“So Richard designed a test.”
“Yes.”
“And if I fail?”
Daniel looked away.
“The control of Hale Industries transfers to the next available heir.”
Adrian looked serious.
“Elizabeth.”
Elizabeth did not deny it.
Victor looked at her.
“Do you want the company?”
Elizabeth was silent.
Then she answered honestly.
“I want the truth.”
That surprised him.
Victor studied her.
“Not power?”
“No.”
“My entire life was stolen because people cared more about power than family.”
She looked at Adrian.
“I know what it feels like to be erased.”
Adrian looked away.
For the first time, the two hidden heirs were not enemies.
They were survivors.
Suddenly, Marcus rushed into the chapel.
“Mr. Hale.”
Victor turned.
“What happened?”
Marcus held up his tablet.
“Serena accessed the company servers.”
Victor’s expression changed.
“Where is she?”
Marcus hesitated.
“She sent a message.”
Victor took the tablet.
A video began playing.
Serena appeared on the screen.
But she looked completely different.
No arrogance.
No confidence.
Only fear.
“Victor.”
Her voice shook.
“I know you hate me.”
Victor stared silently.
“But I need you to listen.”
She looked around nervously.
“Daniel was never the mastermind.”
Everyone looked at Daniel.
He lowered his eyes.
Serena continued.
“Richard controlled everything.”
“But someone else controlled Richard.”
Victor frowned.
“What?”
Serena looked directly into the camera.
“The person above Richard.”
The room became silent.
Amelia whispered:
“No.”
Victor turned toward her.
“What?”
Amelia’s face had lost all color.
“Who?”
Serena answered.
“The founder of the Hale empire.”
Victor froze.
“My grandfather?”
Serena nodded.
“He never died.”
Everyone stood still.
Another impossible truth.
Another hidden ghost.
Victor closed his eyes.
Because he finally understood.
The Hale family secrets had no bottom.
Every answer created another question.
Serena continued.
“Victor, I found something in the company archives.”
“Something Richard was afraid of.”
“What?”
Serena looked terrified.
“The original Hale bloodline records.”
“The real ones.”
Victor leaned closer.
“And?”
Serena swallowed.
“They show that Richard was never the rightful heir.”
The room went silent.
Elizabeth stepped forward.
“Then who was?”
Serena looked at the camera.
“Someone who was removed from history.”
A pause.
“Someone whose descendants are still alive.”
Victor felt a cold feeling.
Another heir.
Another secret.
But before Serena could continue, the video suddenly cut.
A warning appeared.
CONNECTION TERMINATED.
Marcus checked the system.
“She was disconnected.”
Victor looked at him.
“By who?”
Marcus stared at the screen.
“I don’t know.”
Then every phone in the chapel received another message.
This time from an unknown number.
Victor opened it.
Only one sentence appeared.
STOP LOOKING FOR THE PAST.
A second message arrived.
OR YOUR FUTURE WILL DISAPPEAR.
Victor looked at Ethan.
Immediately, he understood.
This was no longer about inheritance.
Someone was threatening his son.
Amelia stepped beside him.
“We protect Ethan.”
Victor nodded.
“But first…”
He looked at the hidden archive.
“We end this.”
Adrian picked up the old family records.
Elizabeth opened the company files.
Daniel prepared the security system.
For the first time, all the Hale heirs stood together.
Not as competitors.
Not as enemies.
As a family.
But none of them noticed the small camera hidden inside the chapel wall.
Someone was watching them.
Someone who had heard every word.
And somewhere far away…
A man smiled while looking at the screen.
Because everything was happening exactly as he planned.
A voice whispered:
“Let them unite.”
“Soon they will destroy each other.”
And beneath the darkness, the final enemy finally revealed himself.
The man who started the Hale family war.
May you like
The man who had been waiting for them to find the truth.
The first Hale heir.
