Chapter 15: A New Horizon

The private airstrip in Monterrey was bathed in the golden, warm light of late afternoon. The sleek twin-engine aircraft idled on the tarmac, its turbine engines humming a smooth, steady rhythm that promised escape from the ghosts of the past.

As they reached the base of the plane’s metal stairs, Valeria paused and looked back one last time toward the distant skyline of San Pedro Garza García, where the glass towers of the financial district gleamed against the horizon.
The fear that had haunted her for three years was completely gone. In its place was a fierce, unshakeable peace.
Sebastián noticed her gaze. He stopped, stepping close and wrapping his arms around both her and the baby.
“Ready to go home?” he asked softly, smiling down at her.
Valeria looked up into his eyes, returning his smile with a radiant warmth that made the entire past nightmare feel like a lifetime ago.
