Evan leaned closer to the car window.

His eyes were cold and merciless.

"She is not a maid, she is the mother of my child," Evan growled.

"And I already know about your offshore accounts, Richard," Evan bluffed.

Richard's smug expression instantly vanished.

His face turned completely pale.

"I have no idea what you are talking about," Richard stammered.

Evan smiled, knowing he had hit a nerve.

"If you or Sabrina bother us again, the IRS gets an anonymous tip," Evan threatened.

"Stay away from my family," Evan ordered.

He turned his back and walked away without waiting for a reply.

Evan returned to the penthouse feeling a sense of victory.

Leah rushed to meet him at the door.

"Are you okay?" she asked, inspecting him for injuries.

"Everything is handled," Evan assured her.

He wrapped his arms around her waist.

"They won't be bothering us anymore," he promised.

Leah rested her head against his chest.

She could hear his strong, steady heartbeat.

"I trust you, Evan," she whispered.

It was a massive step forward for their broken relationship.

Evan kissed the top of her head gently.

"I am going to spend the rest of my life proving I deserve that trust," he said.
