Chapter 20: Epilogue
One Year Later.
The sun set over the mountains, casting a golden glow over Claire’s new venue. Inside, a joyous wedding reception was in full swing. Claire stood on the back porch, breathing in the cool pine air.
Sarah walked out, holding a toddling, giggling Maya. Claire scooped her daughter up, pressing a kiss to her soft cheek. There were no shadows left to fear, no monsters waiting in the kitchen. There was only the future, bright and unwritten, entirely hers.
