Chapter 11: The Master Suite

The hallway was entirely silent, save for the ragged sound of Dante’s breathing. When Aria’s lips met his, a shockwave tore through the iron control he had maintained for weeks. He didn't rush. He didn't push. He simply let her set the pace, his large hands resting gently on her waist as if holding something infinitely precious.

When they finally broke apart, Aria’s eyes were wide, flushed, and completely devoid of fear.

"Are you sure?" Dante asked, his voice a low, gravelly whisper. "Once I walk through that door with you, Aria, I won't ever want to leave."

"I don't want you to leave," she answered, lacing her fingers through his.

They walked into the master suite together. The heavy oak door closed behind them with a soft click, no longer a barrier of protection, but a seal of privacy. The room was bathed in the warm, golden glow of the bedside lamps. Dante stepped back just enough to look at her, his eyes tracing the elegant lines of her midnight-blue dress, before his gaze settled on the fading, barely-there shadows of her old bruises.

He reached out, his knuckles brushing against her collarbone with a reverence that made her breath hitch.

"He will never touch you again," Dante vowed quietly. "None of them will."

"I know," she whispered. "Because I belong to myself now. And I choose this. I choose you."

The transition was a slow, deliberate unwinding of years of trauma. Dante treated her with an agonizingly tender patience, checking her eyes, reading her body language, ensuring that every touch was met with absolute consent. For Aria, the physical intimacy was a revelation. In her previous life, her body had been a vessel for pain and political maneuvering. Now, in the quiet safety of the Rossi estate, she discovered what it felt like to be worshipped.

When the morning sun finally broke through the heavy rain clouds, spilling light across the silk sheets, Aria woke with her head resting on Dante’s bare chest. His arm was wrapped securely around her waist, anchoring her to him even in sleep.

She traced the dark ink of a tattoo on his shoulder, a small smile playing on her lips. The terrifying mob boss of Boston was currently holding her like she was the only thing keeping his world spinning.

Dante stirred, his dark eyes blinking open. He looked down at her, the usual cold calculation in his gaze entirely replaced by a profound, sleepy warmth.

"Good morning, Mrs. Rossi," he murmured, pulling her closer.

"Good morning," she replied, pressing a soft kiss to his jaw.

For the first time in her life, Aria wasn't dreading the day ahead. She was ready for it.
