Chapter 10: The Queen Reclaims Her Throne

Three weeks later.
The morning sun hit the glass façade of the Rostova Tower, illuminating the highest floor in the city. The dust had settled on the greatest corporate massacre in modern American history. The Blackwood syndicate had collapsed, its assets devoured and aggressively absorbed by the Rostova Corporation.
Elena sat behind her father’s massive obsidian desk. She wasn't just back; she was infinitely more powerful than the family had ever been. Wall Street dubbed her the "Iron Empress." Those who had betrayed her family were bankrupt, in prison, or vanished.
The heavy double doors of the office clicked open, and Julian walked in. He wasn't wearing his usual rigid boardroom suit; instead, he wore a tailored charcoal blazer, looking impossibly relaxed. He carried two cups of coffee, setting one down in front of Elena.
"Black, no sugar. Just the way the Empress likes it," Julian said, a knowing smirk playing on his lips.
Elena took a sip, her icy exterior melting just a fraction as she looked up at him. "Do you have the morning report, Julian, or did you just come up here to admire the view?"
Julian walked around the desk, stopping just inches from her chair. He leaned over, his dark eyes locking onto hers with an intensity that made the air in the room suddenly feel incredibly thin.
"The view is certainly the best in the city," Julian murmured, his gaze dropping briefly to her lips before returning to her eyes. "The Blackwood transition is complete. Your father's name is cleared. And Cassandra Sterling was spotted yesterday working the graveyard shift at a diner in Queens."
Elena chuckled, a dark, satisfying sound. Karma had come full circle.
"We did it," Elena said softly, the weight of the last five years finally lifting off her shoulders.
"You did it," Julian corrected, reaching out to gently brush a stray lock of dark hair behind her ear. It was a bold move, a profound shift in the boundaries of their ruthless partnership. "But the city is a big place, Elena. And there are still wolves out there."

Elena stood up, closing the distance between them until they were chest to chest. The raw power radiating between the two most dangerous billionaires in New York was magnetic, undeniable, and utterly intoxicating.
"Let the wolves come," Elena whispered, lifting her chin with unshakeable confidence, the massive pink diamond flashing brilliantly on her hand. "They'll quickly learn who owns the forest."
