Chapter 2: The Name That Never Appeared
Three hours later, Damian sat in a glass-walled conference room that now felt like a cage.
His legal team had stopped answering questions.
His CFO had resigned mid-call.
And every email from investors now carried the same subject line:
“Pending asset reassessment under Voss directive.”
He slammed his fist on the table.
“Who is she?” he demanded. “I want her background, her leverage, her weakness—something!”
A junior analyst hesitated.
“Sir… there is almost no public record of her direct ownership. Voss Global Holdings is structured through layers of trusts, offshore entities, and silent partners.”
Veronica leaned forward.
“So she hides?”
The analyst shook his head slowly.
“No. She doesn’t hide.”
A pause.
“She simply never needed to be seen.”
That sentence changed the temperature of the room.
Damian suddenly understood something worse than defeat.
