The room stayed frozen long after Elena Voss walked out.

Damian stood there like a man who had forgotten how to breathe properly. His phone kept vibrating in his hand—messages, alerts, warnings—but none of them made sense anymore. They weren’t updates. They were obituaries of his empire.

Veronica backed away from the security guard, her voice sharp with panic.
“This is illegal! You can’t just erase someone like this!”

The guard didn’t even blink.
“You were never above the system,” he said.
