CHAPTER 4 – THE TRIAL

CHAPTER 4 – THE TRIAL

The courtroom was packed.

News outlets from around the world waited outside.

The story had become international.

The Missing Billionaire's Wife Was Never Missing.

She had been imprisoned inside her own mansion.

Vivian entered wearing an expensive suit instead of prison clothes.

She still believed money could save her.

Her attorney argued that Elena suffered memory loss.

That none of her testimony could be trusted.

Then the judge asked one question.

"Do you have any physical evidence?"

Alejandro stood.

"I do."

He placed Elena's journals on the witness stand.

More than one thousand handwritten entries.

Every page documented another day of captivity.

Another beating.

Another attempt to escape.

Another prayer that Alejandro was still alive.

Then the elderly housekeeper testified.

So did the gardener.

The chauffeur.

The cook.

Even Vivian's former accountant admitted he had helped hide stolen assets.

One by one...

The walls around Vivian collapsed.

When the verdict was announced, the courtroom remained completely silent.

"Guilty on all counts."

Vivian finally broke.

She screamed that everything belonged to her.

Security officers escorted her away while cameras flashed from every direction.

She had entered the courtroom believing she still controlled the Castillo empire.

She left it with nothing.
