The DNA results arrived less than two hours later.
Vivian Moretti wasn't Elena's sister.
She had forged everything.
Birth certificates.
Medical records.
Legal guardianship.
Even Elena's death certificate.
For three years she had carefully erased Elena's identity.
But why?
The answer arrived inside an old safe hidden beneath the library floor.
Inside were dozens of contracts.
Property transfers.
Corporate ownership papers.
Every document transferred Elena's shares into shell companies controlled by Vivian.
Billions of dollars.
Alejandro slammed the folder shut.
"This was never revenge."
His attorney nodded.
"It was a corporate takeover."
One detective entered with another discovery.
"We found surveillance footage."
The video played.
Three years earlier...
Elena had discovered Vivian stealing company funds.
She threatened to report her.
Vivian smiled.
Then injected Elena with a sedative.
The screen went black.
Alejandro couldn't watch another second.
He walked outside into the rain.
His hands shook for the first time in years.
Behind him, Elena quietly stepped onto the porch.

He turned.
"You remembered?"
