Sophie didn’t disappear quietly.
She showed up at the press conference.
Pale. Angry. Still pregnant.
She interrupted the live broadcast.
“She tricked all of you!” she shouted. “She’s not innocent—she’s—”
Security moved in.
But I raised my hand.
“Let her speak.”
The room froze.
Sophie pointed at me.
“You destroyed a father’s child’s future!”
I stepped forward slowly.
And for the first time, my voice sharpened.
“No.”
“I protected it from a family that eats its own.”
A silence followed.
Then I said something she wasn’t ready for:
“You think you won Lucas?”
I tilted my head.
“He was never mine to lose.”
Her confidence cracked.
Because deep down, she knew.
