PART 2: The Recording That Changed Everything
Daniel didn't waste another second.
He slipped Sarah's phone into his pocket and dialed 911 with trembling hands.
"My wife is seven months pregnant," he said. "She was pushed down a flight of stairs. We need an ambulance and the police immediately."
Jason scoffed.
"It was an accident."
Daniel stared at him.
"No," he replied quietly. "It wasn't."
Within minutes, sirens echoed through the neighborhood.
Paramedics rushed Sarah onto a stretcher while officers separated everyone in the house.
Jason repeated the same story.
"She slipped."
Sarah's father nodded.
"She's always been clumsy."
Then one of the officers asked Daniel if anyone had recorded what happened.
Daniel held up Sarah's phone.
"I think she did."
The officer pressed play.
The room fell silent.
Sarah's frightened voice...
Jason's insult...
The sound of a violent shove...
Sarah crashing down the stairs...
And finally, the unmistakable laughter of her father.
No one spoke.
One officer slowly looked at Jason.
"You're under arrest."
Jason's face turned pale.
Sarah's father tried to interrupt, but another officer stopped him.

"Sir, we'll be speaking with you as well."
For the first time, neither man had anything to say.
