CHAPTER 6 – THE FINAL LESSON

CHAPTER 6 – THE FINAL LESSON

Nearly a year later...

Daniel requested one final meeting.

Not at the mansion.

Not at the company.

A small coffee shop.

He looked older.

Quieter.

Life had humbled him.

"I'm sorry," he said.

"I loved success more than I loved you."

Elena believed him.

Because real regret didn't sound dramatic.

It sounded exhausted.

Daniel looked down.

"If I could do it all again..."

She gently interrupted him.

"You can't."

Silence settled between them.

Then she smiled.

Not with anger.

Not with revenge.

With acceptance.

"I already forgave you."

His eyes filled with tears.

"But forgiveness doesn't mean going back."

She stood.

"Some people come into our lives to build our future."

"Others come to teach us what we should never accept again."

She left a few dollars on the table for her coffee and walked into the afternoon sunlight.

Daniel watched her disappear into the crowd.

This time...

He didn't follow.

He knew she deserved a future that no longer included him.

Because the greatest revenge had never been taking back the company.

May you like

It had been becoming the woman who no longer needed revenge at all.
