Daniel rented a small apartment on the edge of the city.
It was nothing like the penthouse.
No private elevator.
No chauffeur.
No assistants.
Only silence.
One evening, Chloe packed her designer luggage.
Daniel looked confused.
"Where are you going?"
She smiled without emotion.
"I didn't fall in love with you."
"I fell in love with your lifestyle."
His face went pale.
"You said you loved me."
"I loved the CEO."
She handed him the engagement ring.
"I have no use for it now."
The door closed behind her.
Daniel sat alone.
The apartment suddenly felt enormous.
For the first time in years...
No one admired him.
