The pregnant woman tumbled down the stairs. But the attacker was the one who cried. The fall on the grand staircase ""You ruined my life!"" The blonde woman screamed as she shoved her.

CHAPTER 1 — The Call That Changed Everything

The marble hallway of the Harrington estate echoed with the blonde woman’s sobs.

“I didn’t push her… she slipped!” she cried, clutching the caretaker’s sleeve. “She’s trying to frame me!”

Above the chaos, the pregnant woman—still on the floor, one arm wrapped tightly around her stomach—held the phone against her ear with a steadiness that didn’t match her condition.

Her breathing was controlled. Measured.

“Detective Ruiz,” she repeated. “It’s already happened. Send everyone here immediately.”

A pause.

Then her eyes lifted toward the staircase—toward the woman still crying loudly enough to control the room.

“Also,” she added softly, “activate protocol Seven.”

The line went silent for half a second.

“Understood,” the voice replied.

The pregnant woman ended the call.

And for the first time, the caretaker noticed something strange.

The crying had stopped being about pain.

It had become performance.

CHAPTER 2 — The Wrong Victim

Within minutes, sirens echoed faintly in the distance.

The blonde woman’s face shifted instantly. She leaned closer to the caretaker, whispering urgently.

“She attacked me first. You saw it, right? She’s unstable!”

The caretaker hesitated.

But the pregnant woman was still on the floor. Still silent. Still ignored.

That made the choice easy—for them.

Or so they thought.

A luxury car door slammed outside.

Then another.

Heavy footsteps entered the estate.

Not police uniforms.

Plain clothes. Professional. Precise.

Detective Ruiz stepped in first, his gaze scanning the scene once.

And immediately locking onto the woman on the floor.

“Clear the room,” he said calmly.

The blonde woman froze.

“What? No—she’s the one who—”

Ruiz raised a hand.

“I said clear it.”

The air changed instantly.

The caretakers stepped back.

The pregnant woman finally pushed herself upright, her face pale but composed.

“You’re late,” she said quietly.

Ruiz nodded once.

“We came as fast as we could, Director Hale.”

The blonde woman blinked.

“…Director?”
