Vanessa was handcuffed.
"This is ridiculous!" she screamed.

Ruiz remained calm.
"Actually, attempted murder."
Before leading her away, another detective approached Ruiz.
"We searched her car."
"What did you find?"
"A burner phone."
"And?"
"It contains messages."
Ruiz opened the files.
Every conversation was with an unknown contact.
One message read:
"Make sure she loses the baby. Then everything belongs to us."
Ruiz slowly looked at Vanessa.
"You weren't acting alone."
Vanessa stayed silent.
Her confidence was gone.
Across the room, Elena quietly closed her eyes.
