CHAPTER 2 – The Truth Hidden in the Cameras

CHAPTER 2 – The Truth Hidden in the Cameras
Vanessa's knees nearly gave out.
"This... this store belongs to you?"
"So does every luxury boutique on this floor."
No one moved.
Adrian calmly addressed his head of security.
"Lock the entrances."
The glass doors automatically closed.
No customers complained.
Everyone wanted to see what happened next.
Adrian requested one thing.
"Play the security footage from the last fifteen minutes."
Within moments, every screen inside the boutique displayed the surveillance recording.
There was Sophie standing quietly near a display of handbags.
She never touched anything.
She simply looked around.
Then Vanessa marched over.
Instead of asking if the child was lost...
She grabbed Sophie's wrist.
Customers gasped as the footage showed the terrified little girl trying not to cry.
Next came Emma.
She gently pulled Sophie away, removed her own coat, wrapped it around the child, and knelt beside her.
Vanessa's voice filled the store through the security audio.
"Children like that don't belong in luxury stores."
The sentence echoed through the speakers.
Complete silence followed.
Adrian turned off the monitor.
"You judged a child because of her clothes."
Vanessa burst into tears.
"I'm sorry."
"No."
May you like
He shook his head.
"You're sorry because you recognized my name."
