CHAPTER 3 – THE SECURITY FOOTAGE

CHAPTER 3 – THE SECURITY FOOTAGE

The detective asked one question.

"Does anyone here have security cameras?"

Marcus pointed toward the garage.

"My dashcam records whenever someone walks in front of the car."

Nobody had remembered it.

Until now.

The memory card was removed immediately.

Everyone gathered around a laptop.

At 6:41 a.m., the camera activated.

Lily appeared first.

Still sleepy.

Holding her stuffed rabbit.

She wasn't crying.

She wasn't wandering.

She was holding my mother's hand.

Then Vanessa walked into frame.

She looked around to make sure no one was watching.

My mother opened the dumpster.

Vanessa lifted Lily under the arms.

Lily laughed.

She thought they were playing.

Then—

they dropped her inside.

My mother calmly closed the lid.

The timestamp kept recording.

Six minutes passed.

Nobody came back.

The room became completely silent.

One detective paused the video.

Then rewound it.

He looked directly at my parents.

"Would either of you like to explain attempted child homicide?"

My father finally exploded.

"It wasn't supposed to happen like that!"

May you like

Every officer in the room froze.

Those seven words changed the entire investigation.
