Chapter 3: The Truth Comes Out

Chapter 3: The Truth Comes Out

Three days passed.

Alejandro watched quietly.

And what he saw destroyed him.

Jimena spoke kindly whenever he was nearby.

But the moment he left, her entire personality changed.

She yelled at the girls.

She took away their food as punishment.

She told them their father was too busy to care about them.

“You should be grateful I even let you stay here,” Jimena said one afternoon.

The girls sat silently.

Crying.

Alejandro watched the footage with tears in his eyes.

He finally understood why his daughters had become afraid of him.

Jimena had spent months convincing them they were unwanted.

That their father had abandoned them.

That they were a burden.

Alejandro couldn’t watch anymore.

He walked into the living room holding the evidence.

Jimena looked up.

“What are you doing?”

Alejandro placed the documents and recordings on the table.

“I’m asking you one question.”

Her smile disappeared.

“Why?”

“Why did you hurt my daughters?”

For the first time, Jimena had no answer.

Then she laughed.

A cold, emotionless laugh.

“Because they were in my way.”

Alejandro felt like the entire world stopped.

“In your way?”

“Yes,” she admitted. “Everything belonged to them. Your attention. Your money. Your heart.”

She stepped closer.

“You never loved me the way you loved them.”

Alejandro looked at her with disbelief.

“So you punished innocent children because you were jealous?”

Jimena said nothing.

The silence was her answer.

That night, Alejandro called his lawyer.

By morning, Jimena would no longer have access to his home, his accounts, or his daughters.

But the final battle had only begun.
