Chapter 1: The Money That Never Reached His Daughters

Alejandro stayed on his knees beside his daughters, holding them tightly as tears rolled down his face.

For six months, he had believed he was being a good father.

Every month, he had transferred more than enough money for their care. He had paid for food, clothing, education, medical expenses, and anything his daughters could possibly need.

But now, standing inside that cold dining room, looking at their thin faces and frightened eyes, he realized something was terribly wrong.

“Where is the money I sent?” Alejandro asked quietly.

The girls didn’t answer.

They only looked toward the hallway.

That single glance told him everything.

Someone had taught them to be afraid.

Alejandro carried his daughters upstairs, wrapped them in warm blankets, and called his longtime family assistant, Mateo.

“Check every payment I’ve sent during the last six months,” Alejandro ordered. “I want to know exactly where every dollar went.”

An hour later, Mateo called back.

His voice sounded nervous.

“Mr. Santillán… you need to see this.”

Alejandro opened the documents Mateo sent.

His heart sank.

The money was not being used for groceries, clothing, or the girls’ needs.

Thousands of dollars had been spent on luxury shopping, expensive parties, jewelry, vacations, and private events.

All approved by Jimena.

But there was something even worse.

A large amount of money had been transferred to another account under a different name.

Alejandro stared at the screen.

“Who owns this account?”

Mateo hesitated.

“Your wife’s brother.”

The room went silent.

Jimena wasn’t just neglecting his daughters.

She was stealing from them.

At that moment, Alejandro made a decision.

He would not leave the house.

He would not confront her yet.

Because he knew one thing:

If Jimena was capable of hiding this much, there was something much darker she was trying to protect.

And he was going to find out everything.
