The next morning, Alejandro acted like nothing had happened.
Jimena walked into the kitchen wearing designer clothes, smiling as if the previous night had never existed.
“Oh, you’re finally awake,” she said casually. “The party was amazing. Everyone had such a great time.”
Alejandro looked at her carefully.
“My daughters?”
Jimena smiled.
“They’re fine. They’re just being dramatic. Children always complain.”
Alejandro felt anger rising inside him, but he controlled himself.
“I want to spend the day with them.”
