Chapter 3: Justice Arrives

Chapter 3: Justice Arrives
Three months later, the courtroom was filled with many of the same faces that had attended the wedding.
This time, there were no flowers.
No music.
Only evidence.
Security footage.
Engineering reports.
Witness testimony.
And one simple truth.
The groom had staged the accident to create a dramatic insurance claim while blaming the hotel for negligence. He never expected the board to strike a child.
The jury returned after less than three hours.
"Guilty on all counts."
The courtroom remained silent as the verdict was read.
The little girl squeezed Emily's hand.
She no longer looked frightened.
She looked free.
Outside the courthouse, reporters surrounded Emily, asking whether she hated the man who had destroyed so many lives.
She looked at her daughter before answering.
"I don't need revenge."
"I wanted the truth."
"And today, the truth finally won."
As they walked away together, the afternoon sunlight broke through the clouds.
Some wounds leave scars.
But scars are proof that healing is stronger than pain.
Sometimes justice doesn't arrive with loud applause or dramatic speeches.
May you like
Sometimes it arrives quietly... in the courage of one person who refuses to stop searching for the truth.
And in the end, the truth was the only thing that never fell.
