Chapter 1: The Truth Hidden in the Ceiling

"It's all connected."

Emily's voice echoed through the silent ballroom.

Every guest turned toward her.

She slowly pointed at the security monitor.

"Play the footage from five minutes earlier."

The hotel manager hesitated before nodding. Within seconds, the black-and-white recording rewound.

The room watched in complete silence.

There he was.

The groom.

Instead of greeting guests, he quietly slipped away from the reception hall. He unlocked a maintenance door near the stage and disappeared inside.

Thirty seconds later, another camera showed him climbing a narrow service ladder above the ballroom ceiling.

A collective gasp filled the room.

"What is he doing up there?" someone whispered.

The next camera answered the question.

The groom knelt beside the large wooden menu board hanging from decorative cables. He loosened one of the steel support brackets with a wrench before checking his watch.

Then he climbed back down.

The timestamp showed it happened exactly four minutes before the accident.

The ballroom became deathly quiet.

The groom's face turned pale.

"That's been edited," he shouted.

"It has to be fake."

But the hotel manager immediately shook his head.

"Our security system stores footage on three separate servers. It can't be altered without leaving a digital record."

The older man beside the groom slowly lowered his head.

"I paid for this wedding," he said quietly.

"And you nearly turned it into a funeral."

The groom took a step backward.

"No..."

May you like

"I wasn't trying to hurt anyone."

But no one believed him anymore.
