Police officers arrived before Victoria could escape.
As they placed handcuffs around her wrists, she screamed at Ethan.
"You don't understand! Everything should have been mine!"
Ethan frowned.
"What are you talking about?"
One of Richard's attorneys stepped forward.
"I think it's time everyone knows."
He opened a sealed envelope Richard had left with him months earlier.
"Mr. Sterling recently updated his will."
The room listened carefully.
"The Sterling fortune was never going to Victoria."
Her face turned pale.
"The company, the estate, and every family asset were to remain under a trust until Richard's future grandchildren came of age."
Victoria exploded.
"He lied to me!"
The attorney continued.
"He suspected someone close to him cared more about his wealth than his life."
Richard had quietly instructed the security team to preserve all surveillance footage indefinitely.
He feared someone might eventually try to kill him.
Victoria lowered her head.
