Chapter 4 – Justice Finally Speaks
Months later, Eleanor's trial begins.
The prosecution presents photographs of Natalie's injuries, medical reports, the recording from Luke's 911 call, and the security footage recovered from the house.
Witness after witness describes Eleanor's controlling behavior.
Even former neighbors testify that they often heard Natalie crying.
When Eleanor finally takes the stand, she refuses to apologize.
Instead, she insists,
"Everything I did was for my son's family."
The jury deliberates for only three hours.
Guilty.
On every count.
As the sentence is read, Eleanor looks toward Luke, expecting sympathy.
