Two weeks later, Natalie unexpectedly goes into labor.
Complications develop almost immediately.
Luke spends fourteen terrifying hours outside the delivery room, praying he won't lose either his wife or their son.
Just before dawn, a nurse steps out with a smile.
"You have a healthy baby boy."
Luke bursts into tears before he even sees his son.

They name him Samuel, after Luke's late grandfather—the only member of the family remembered for kindness rather than control.
Across town, Eleanor receives the news through her attorney.
