PART 5 — The Trial of Santiago Rivas

PART 5 — The Trial of Santiago Rivas
Three months later.
Mexico City Court.
The media called it:
The Billionaire Abuse Trial.
But I called it something else.
Truth.
Santiago sat in a glass room now.
No suit.
No power.
No smile.
Beatriz avoided my eyes completely.
Evidence played on screens.
Audio recordings.
Videos.
Documents.
Every second of my suffering replayed in public.
And still…
I didn’t flinch.
When they asked me to testify, I stood slowly.
My hand rested on my belly.
My son was still with me.
Still safe.
I looked directly at Santiago.
“This man didn’t just try to hurt me,” I said.
“He tried to erase me.”
Silence filled the courtroom.
Then I added:
“But he failed.”
Santiago finally broke.
Not in rage.
In realization.
May you like
He had lost.
Completely.
