PART 2 — The Man Behind the Door
The moment my father stepped inside, the mansion changed.
Not physically.
But everything in it stopped pretending.
Santiago didn’t move.
Neither did Beatriz.
My father, Ricardo Salazar, walked forward slowly—like a man who already knew how this would end.
His eyes fell on me first.
Eight months pregnant.
Kneeling on the marble floor.
Then they shifted to my husband.
Cold.
Measuring.
Dangerous.
“You touched her,” my father said quietly.
It wasn’t a question.
Santiago forced a laugh.
“This is a private matter—”
Ricardo interrupted him.
“No.”
One word.
And the temperature dropped.
Santiago’s confidence cracked for the first time.
Beatriz finally stepped forward, her voice sharp.
“You have no right to interfere in—”
“My daughter,” Ricardo said.
Silence.
That word hit harder than any scream.
Santiago turned slowly toward me.
“No…” he whispered. “That’s not possible…”

And for the first time in two years…
I didn’t look away.
