The attorneys spread documents across the dining table like a quiet storm.

Bank statements.

Shell companies.

Asset freezes waiting for activation.

And then—

The custody file.

My name.

My unborn child.

Declared “unfit mother” based on falsified psychiatric reports.

I felt my breath stop.

Santiago stared at it, then turned sharply to Beatriz.

“You did this without telling me?”

She didn’t hesitate.

“We did it to protect the family.”

My father stepped closer to the table.

“No,” he corrected. “You did it to steal a child.”

The room shifted again.

Even Santiago looked disturbed now.

But only for a second.

Then something colder returned to his face.

“I won’t let you take my son,” he said.

My father turned to him.

“You already lost that right the moment you raised your hand against her.”

Santiago scoffed.

“She’s my wife.”

My father’s expression sharpened.
