CHAPTER 3: SUNRISE DEADLINE

CHAPTER 3: SUNRISE DEADLINE

That evening, the mansion lights flickered on one by one—not by comfort, but by procedure. Backup generators. System checks. Final audits.

The man stood alone in the grand hall now. No guests. No allies. Just echoes.

At 11:48 PM, a formal notice was delivered to him personally.

Vacate deadline: Sunrise.

He laughed at first. A short, broken sound.

“You can’t actually throw me out,” he said when Ms. Dixon appeared at the bottom of the staircase.

She stopped. Looked up.

“I didn’t,” she replied. “The law did.”

For the first time, he saw it—not anger, not revenge—but distance. Finality.

As dawn approached, suitcases lined the driveway again. But this time, they weren’t hers.

The sun rose slowly over the estate gates as security escorted the last remaining occupants out.

Ms. Dixon stood on the steps alone, watching the light spread across the property that had once been used as a weapon against her.

Her phone buzzed.

A message from the attorney: Ownership fully secured. All assets transferred.

She placed a hand on her stomach, exhaled softly, and turned back toward the house—not as someone who had been thrown out…

…but as someone who had finally come home.
