CHAPTER 2: THE REPOSSESSION
By noon, the estate was no longer quiet—it was controlled.
Security vehicles arrived first, followed by legal representatives and asset enforcement officers. Every entrance was documented. Every movement recorded.
The man tried to assert ownership, shouting orders that no one followed anymore.
“This is my home!” he yelled at the gates.
The lead officer checked a tablet, then replied without emotion, “Not according to the court-issued transfer. You are currently occupying reclaimed property.”
The woman beside him on the balcony—who had smiled when Ms. Dixon was humiliated—now didn’t speak at all.
Inside the house, rooms were being inventoried. Art removed. Financial records sealed. The illusion of permanence was being dismantled piece by piece.
Ms. Dixon stood in the foyer as staff approached her for confirmation signatures.
She signed once.

Each stroke of ink sounded louder than the shouting upstairs.
The attorney leaned in slightly. “There is one remaining step, Ms. Dixon.”
