Three days later, Marcus returned to the condo.
Only it no longer belonged to him.
A legal notice was taped to the front door.

"I've been trying to reach you."
Marcus grabbed the paperwork.
"Fix this."
The attorney sighed.
"I can't."

"The condo wasn't yours."
Marcus froze.
"It was purchased six years ago through a trust controlled by Julianne's family."
His face drained of color.
"No..."
"The mortgage was never under your name."
"The cars?"
"Registered to Whitmore Holdings."
"Our investment account?"
"The initial capital came from Julianne."
Marcus suddenly remembered every promotion.
Every business opportunity.
Every important client.
Every miracle that had happened after marrying Julianne.
