"Your investor meeting has been canceled."
"What?"
"The Robertson investment group has withdrawn."
His face turned pale.
"That's impossible."
Within hours...
Banks froze expansion financing.
Two venture capital firms suspended negotiations.
Three board members demanded an emergency meeting.
One investor finally told him the truth.
"We invested because Robertson Global believed in your leadership."
"If they've lost confidence..."
"So have we."
By sunset...
Nearly sixty percent of his company's projected funding had vanished.
Meanwhile, I sat quietly in my father's estate, feeding Toby while watching the rain outside.
