Richard helped Evelyn into one of the SUVs.
A female physician immediately examined her.
"Blood pressure is elevated."
"The baby is under stress."
Richard's expression darkened.
He turned toward one of the attorneys.
"Document everything."
The lawyer nodded.
"Already recording."
Nathaniel finally found his voice.
"Mr. Brooks...this is between my wife and me."
Richard slowly faced him.
"My daughter stopped being merely your wife the second you endangered my grandchild."
Another SUV door opened.
More people emerged.
Senior partners.
Corporate attorneys.
Former federal prosecutors.
Private investigators.
Every one of them worked for Brooks Global Holdings.
Patricia whispered,
"Brooks..."
The name sounded familiar.
One attorney handed Richard a tablet.
"Sir."
"The acquisition documents are ready."
Nathaniel frowned.
"What acquisition?"
The attorney looked directly at him.
"Gray Technologies."
Nathaniel laughed.
"Impossible."
The lawyer remained calm.
"Seventy-two percent of your lenders sold their debt this afternoon."
"Your largest investors followed."
"You no longer control your own company."
Nathaniel's smile disappeared.
"What?"
Richard answered.
"You built your company with my daughter's mind."
