Sophia and Leo were rushed to the hospital under police escort.
I stayed behind.
There was one final conversation that needed to happen.
Daniel connected a laptop to the television in the living room.
Eleanor frowned.
"What are you doing?"
"Showing everyone the truth."
The first video appeared.
Nursery camera footage.
The timestamp showed three weeks after my deployment.
Sophia stood beside Leo's crib, trying to soothe him.
Eleanor entered.
Without warning, she grabbed the bottle from Sophia's hands.
"If he cries, let him cry."
Sophia reached for it.
Eleanor shoved her hard enough to send her crashing into the dresser.
Audrey could be heard laughing behind the camera.
Another clip began.
Sophia begged for her phone.
"My husband needs to know."
Eleanor smiled.
"He'll believe me before he believes you."
The next recording was even worse.
Leo cried for nearly two hours while Sophia remained locked inside the laundry room.
Audrey deliberately unplugged the baby monitor before walking away.
Nobody in the room said a word.
Even the deputies looked disgusted.
Daniel clicked to the final recording.
It had been captured only three nights earlier.
Eleanor looked directly toward the nursery camera.
"It doesn't matter if Lucas comes home.
By then, she'll either leave... or nobody will believe her."
