Chapter 4 – Liam Speaks
That evening Daniel canceled every meeting.
He came home early.
Victoria greeted him with her usual perfect smile.
"You're home early."
"I am."
His voice was calm.
Too calm.
He called every employee into the living room.
Then he pressed Play.
No one spoke as the footage unfolded.
Victoria's face slowly lost all color.
When the recording ended, she whispered,
"Daniel... I can explain."
"No."
For the first time, his voice thundered through the mansion.
"You manipulated my grieving son."
"You fired the only person helping him heal."
"You lied to me every single day."
Victoria reached for his arm.
He stepped back.
"Pack your belongings."
"You're leaving."
"And don't ever come near my son again."
As security escorted Victoria toward the front gate, everyone heard a tiny voice behind them.
"Dad..."
Daniel turned.
Liam stood there, tears streaming down his face.
"I was scared you'd choose her."
Daniel dropped to his knees.
He hugged his son tighter than ever before.
"I will always choose you."
