Daniel couldn't sleep that night.
Something about Liam's words kept echoing in his mind.
She was sent away.
The following morning, he quietly called the home's security company.
Every hallway and entrance was covered by cameras.
Except one.
The kitchen.
Luckily, the hallway camera overlooked its doorway.
Daniel reviewed the footage alone in his office.
His hands froze on the keyboard.
There was Grace...
Standing quietly with her bag.
Victoria throwing cash onto the counter.
Victoria pointing toward the front door.
Liam running after Grace.
Then—
Victoria yanked Liam backward so hard he stumbled onto the marble floor.
Daniel's blood ran cold.
She hadn't merely dismissed Grace.
She had lied.
She had frightened his son.
And then she had hidden everything.
Before he could process it all, another recording appeared from later that evening.
Victoria speaking to one of the maids.
"If Liam stops eating again, good. Daniel will think he's emotionally unstable. It'll make raising him much easier once we're married."
Daniel couldn't breathe.
