Chapter 2: Every Camera Was Recording

Chapter 2: Every Camera Was Recording
Inside the executive conference room, Victor slammed his fist onto the table.
"This is abuse of power!"
Evelyn quietly placed a tablet in front of him.
"Watch."
The ballroom surveillance footage began playing.
Every insult.
Every shove.
Every cruel laugh.
Every guest who mocked the waitress.
Every second had been recorded in perfect high-definition.
Victor swallowed hard.
His wife, Cassandra, suddenly burst into tears.
"We didn't know who you were!"
Evelyn looked almost disappointed.
"That's exactly the problem."
She leaned forward.
"You believed kindness depended on someone's job title."
Silence.
Then another screen appeared.
Financial records.
Lease contracts.
Pending acquisitions.
Victor stared in horror.
His own company was already drowning in debt.
The office lease inside Carter Tower was the only thing keeping investors confident.
Without it...
Everything collapsed.
Evelyn calmly closed the tablet.
"You didn't lose your company tonight because you insulted me."
May you like
She stood.
"You lost it because your character revealed exactly how you treat people when you think no one is watching."
