Three days before the attack, my grandmother had called me into her study.
She was weak, but her mind was sharper than ever.
“Marcus,” she told me, “people will show their true colors when money is involved.”
I laughed, thinking she was just being cautious.
I never imagined she was warning me about my own family.
She handed me a folder.
Inside was her updated will.
Everything was there.
The houses. The investments. The company shares.
