Chapter 1: The Fall

Chapter 1: The Fall
Silence swallowed the room.
The man in the tuxedo stared at her as though he had never seen her before. His knees nearly buckled.
"W-What do you mean... cut my funding?"
The executive calmly opened the briefcase and removed several folders.
"Every company under your management," he said evenly, "belongs to Blackstone Global Holdings."
He laid the documents across the marble coffee table.
"You were never the owner."
The ex-boyfriend's breathing became frantic. "That's impossible! I built this company!"
The executive looked at him with cold amusement.
"You managed it."
He turned another page.
"She founded it."
The woman in the crimson dress laughed nervously.
"This has to be some kind of joke."
"It isn't."
The executive slid over one final document.
"Five years ago, she transferred operational authority into your name while secretly retaining one hundred percent ownership through a holding company."
The woman on the couch never blinked.
"I wanted to know whether you loved me..."
She slowly stood.
"...or my success."
Her ex stumbled backward.
"You tricked me."
"No."
She took one measured step toward him.
"You exposed yourself."
For years, he had enjoyed the private jets.
The luxury homes.
The magazine covers.
The respect.
Believing every bit of it belonged to him.
It never had.
Within seconds, his phone began ringing nonstop.
His investors were pulling out.
Banks were freezing accounts.
Board members were resigning.
Every notification delivered another piece of his empire crashing into dust.
The executive looked at his watch.
"Your corporate access has officially been revoked."
"You now own exactly..."
May you like
He paused.
"...nothing."
