Chapter 5: The Price of Cruelty

Six months later...

The Beaumont empire had collapsed.

Multiple investigations uncovered fraud, tax crimes, and bribery.

Several executives accepted plea agreements.

Cassandra lost her position, her fortune, and the social status she had spent a lifetime protecting.

Meanwhile, Victoria and William quietly established the Lily Hayes Children's Foundation, providing legal aid, education, and emergency assistance for vulnerable children who had experienced abuse or discrimination.

At the foundation's opening ceremony, Lily stood beside her parents wearing another pink dress.

A reporter asked her if she remembered the night at the ballroom.

She smiled.

"I remember being scared."

She reached for her mother's hand.

"But I also remember that my mom came for me."

Victoria kissed the top of her daughter's head.

"No child should ever wonder if someone will protect them."

The audience rose to their feet in applause.

Because everyone eventually learned the same lesson Cassandra Beaumont never did—

True power isn't measured by wealth, titles, or influence.
