Chapter 3: When the Truth Finally Came Out
The father couldn't believe what he was hearing.
"You let a stranger hide in our home with our daughter here?"
"I never thought he would hurt anyone," she answered.
Daniel lowered his head.
"She's telling the truth."
He admitted that he had planned to leave many times but was too frightened to face the people chasing him.
Then someone knocked on the front door.
Three loud knocks.
Everyone froze again.
Daniel's face turned pale.
"They found me."
The father looked through the security camera.
Two police officers stood outside.
Not criminals.
Police.
He opened the door.
The officers explained they had finally arrested the group responsible for threatening Daniel.
One of the suspects had confessed and revealed that Daniel had been hiding for months.
They were simply there to take his statement.
