Chapter 3: The Door Finally Opens

Police detectives arrived before sunrise.

Secret financial records, forged documents, and years of false reports were discovered inside the woman's private office.

Everything pointed to one motive.

Greed.

If the little girl had remained alive publicly, she would have inherited the entire family estate.

Instead...

She had been erased.

Hidden.

Forgotten.

Except she survived.

The woman was led away in handcuffs without saying a word.

As she passed the little girl, she tried to avoid her eyes.

The child simply asked,

"Why didn't you let me have a family?"

The woman couldn't answer.

Weeks later, the mansion looked different.

The locked room had been demolished.

Sunlight now filled the space where darkness had lived for years.

The young man officially became the child's legal guardian until the courts finalized her inheritance.

One afternoon, they returned to the room together.

Nothing remained except an open window overlooking the gardens.

The little girl smiled for the first time.

"Can I leave the door open?"

He smiled back.

"You never have to hide again."

She stepped into the sunlight, holding his hand.

Behind them, workers removed the final lock from the old wooden door.
