chap 1

Emma had discovered something no one else had.
Not because she was smarter than Adrian's security team.
Because she had once been a pediatric nurse.
The moment she held the baby, she felt a tiny, unnatural bulge beneath the back of his designer onesie.
It wasn't part of the clothing.
It wasn't a medical device.
It was taped directly against his skin.
Her heart skipped.
"Don't move," she whispered.
Adrian's sharp eyes locked onto hers.
"What is it?"
Instead of answering, Emma carefully slipped two fingers beneath the baby's collar and peeled the fabric back just enough.
A tiny black object no larger than a coin blinked with a faint red light.
One...
Two...
Three...
The bodyguards instantly reached for their weapons.
"A tracker," Emma breathed.
Silence crashed over the restaurant.
Adrian's expression darkened into something terrifying.
"No one leaves."
Every exit slammed shut.
Within seconds, security specialists surrounded the child.
One technician examined the device.
"It's military grade."
Another shook his head.
"Worse."
He looked directly at Adrian.
"It broadcasts both location and audio."
Someone hadn't just been watching the Romano family.
Someone had been listening to every private conversation around Adrian's son for days.
The bodyguard who had interrupted moments earlier stepped forward.
"Boss."
"We checked the security footage."
He swallowed hard.
"The tracker wasn't attached today."
Adrian's voice became dangerously calm.
"Then when?"
The technician answered.
"Approximately seventy-two hours ago."
Adrian slowly looked around the room.
Only five people had been close enough to the baby during those three days.
His nanny.
His private doctor.
His personal assistant.
His head of security.
And...
May you like
His younger brother, Marco.
The restaurant suddenly felt much colder.
