Chapter 4: The Man Who Lost Everything

Chapter 4: The Man Who Lost Everything
Months later...
Damian lived alone in a small apartment far from the skyline he once ruled.
The luxury cars were gone.
The private jet had been sold.
The mansion belonged to the bank.
He stared through the window as rain tapped softly against the glass.
A knock interrupted his thoughts.
It was Elena.
She entered without arrogance.
Without security.
Without cameras.
"I didn't come to mock you," she said.
Damian laughed bitterly.
"You've already won."
Elena shook her head.
"This was never about winning."
"It was about ending a lie."
He lowered his eyes.
"I should've listened to you."
"You should've respected people before they became powerful."
Silence settled between them.
Finally, Damian spoke.
"I don't expect forgiveness."
"You won't receive it."
She stood.
"But I hope you learn."
As she reached the door, Damian whispered,
"I really did love you once."
Elena paused only for a second.
"Maybe."
May you like
"But you loved power more."
Then she walked away forever.
