Chapter 1: The Fall Was Only the Beginning

Damian stared at the endless stream of notifications flashing across his phone.

Account Frozen.

Board Resolution Approved.

Executive Access Revoked.

Every alert felt like another brick being pulled from the foundation of his empire.

"No..."

His voice cracked.

"This has to be a mistake."

"It isn't," Elena replied calmly.

The directors around the conference table stood as she walked toward the head seat—the seat Damian had occupied for nearly a decade.

Without asking permission, she sat down.

No one objected.

The chairman cleared his throat.

"Ms. Voss, the board is awaiting your decision regarding the future of Voss Technologies."

Damian slammed both hands onto the table.

"I built this company!"

Elena looked at him without emotion.

"You managed it."

She opened another folder.

"I built it."

The room fell silent.

One by one, confidential documents appeared on the screen.

Original patents.

Founding contracts.

Investment records.

Every signature belonged to Elena.

For years she had allowed Damian to believe he was the architect of an empire that had never truly been his.

"You hid everything."

"I protected everything," Elena corrected.

"From people exactly like you."

Damian's lawyer suddenly entered the room, breathing heavily.

"Mr. Blackwood..."

He hesitated.

"We've reviewed every agreement."

His shoulders collapsed.

"She's the legal owner."
