Chapter 2: Two Children, One Miracle

The groom stood frozen.

"I was... adopted?"

His mother nodded.

"You were six months old when your parents died in a car accident."

She reached for his hand.

"I couldn't save my daughter."

Her voice cracked.

"But I couldn't bear another child growing up without a family."

"So I adopted you."

The groom's eyes filled with tears.

"You never told me."

"I was afraid."

"Afraid that one day you'd think I wasn't your real mother."

He stepped closer.

"You are my real mother."

The words shattered the last wall around her heart.

The three of them embraced while guests quietly wiped away tears.

An elderly priest cleared his throat.

"There is no blood relation between the bride and groom."

Everyone looked toward him.

"The adoption records and birth records make that clear."

A wave of relief spread across the room.

The bride looked at the man she loved.

"So..."

He smiled through tears.

"You're still the woman I want to spend the rest of my life with."

She laughed for the first time that day.

"And you're still the only man I'll ever marry."

The guests erupted into applause.

But before the ceremony resumed, the bride turned to her newly found mother.

"I lost twenty years with you."

The older woman gently touched her daughter's face.

"Then let's spend every day we have left making up for them."
