Chapter 2: Every Lie Falls Apart

Chapter 2: Every Lie Falls Apart
"Do you know who my father is?"
Chloe struggled against Marcus's grip.
"My father owns half this school's endowment!"
Damien didn't even glance at her.
Instead, he knelt beside Maren once more as his personal physician examined her.
"Possible placental trauma," the doctor whispered.
"We need a hospital immediately."
Damien nodded.
Then looked toward Headmaster Grant Ellison.
"You."
The older man stepped forward with shaking legs.
"I—I tried to keep everything calm."
Damien spoke quietly.
"Security footage."
"The cameras failed."
Marcus leaned toward Damien.
"We already hacked the academy servers."
He held up a tablet.
"The cameras never failed."
Several security videos began playing simultaneously.
The ballroom watched in horror.
There was Chloe...
Pouring the matcha onto the floor.
Ordering Maren onto her knees.
Mocking her pregnancy.
Then...
Another camera showed Chloe removing her Cartier watch...
Sliding it inside Paige Calloway's designer purse...
Moments before accusing Maren.
Gasps echoed everywhere.
Headmaster Ellison turned pale.
"I..."
Damien interrupted.
"You lied."
Ellison collapsed into a chair.
"I didn't want to upset the donors."
Damien's expression never changed.
"You sacrificed an innocent woman because wealthy parents frightened you."
He looked toward Marcus.
"Every member of this administration..."
"...is unemployed."
"Tonight."
Meanwhile, Paige burst into tears.
"It wasn't my idea!"
Sloane dropped her phone.
"We were just joking!"
Damien finally looked directly at the three girls.
"You believed money erased consequences."

He paused.
"Allow me to educate you."
