The black G-Wagon disappeared into the night, leaving the mansion behind like a nightmare she refused to revisit.
Emma wiped the blood from the corner of her mouth with the back of her hand. The tears were gone.
Only silence remained.
Her phone was already connected.
"Ma'am," a calm male voice answered immediately.
She didn't hesitate.
"Freeze every account connected to Harrison Investments."
A brief pause.
"All of them?"
"Every single one. Personal, corporate, offshore... everything."
"Understood."
Within thirty seconds, billions of dollars became untouchable.
Emma leaned back in the driver's seat, staring through the windshield.
Three years.
Three years she had allowed everyone to believe she was simply Daniel Harrison's quiet wife.
No one knew she had inherited controlling ownership of Harrison Investments after secretly rescuing the company from bankruptcy before their marriage.
Daniel had signed every agreement without reading the fine print.
He thought he owned the empire.
He never realized he had only been managing it for her.
Her phone rang again.
"Done," her attorney said.
"And the board meeting?"
"They've all been notified. Eight o'clock tomorrow morning."
Emma smiled for the first time that night.
